Released by Capitol Jazz, The Edge looks at part of his own discography while showing his contributions when he was the A&R for Capitol's Black music division by bringing in Lou Rawls, Letta Mbulu and others. His blend of orchestral jazz soul would become a sampling tool for countless hip-hop songs in the 1990's when producers dabbled in his output.
