We Are The Children is the 1976 debut album by Hawaiian folk group Country Comfort. This features the radio hits "Waimanalo Blues", "Sunlight, Moonlight" and the title track. Originally released by Trim Records, this was reissued by Hana Ola via Cord International.
Country Comfort were a Hawaiian folk-rock group who shared their love of the acoustic California sound of the 1970's and mixed it in with occasional Hawaiian themes. Songs like "Sunlight, Moonlight" and "Waimanalo Blues" touched on the changes Hawaii was going through in the early 1970's, some not for the better. It also includes a favorable cover of Bread's "Make It With You"

Their debut album, We Are The Children, was an immediate hit leading to many of its songs gaining airplay not only in Hawaii, but on parts of the West Coast of the United States. One can call this Hawaiian hippie music, a style that seemed to be successful until it became out of fashion for Hawaiian audiences. While the style was left behind, many contemporary musicians still cite this as a major influence.

The group recorded only two albums, and one of its singers, Billy Kaui, would attempt a solo career before he died of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 28, three months after the release of his solo album.
