"Live In Cuxhaven 1976" is the third installment in the series of live albums. It follows "Can Live In Brighton 1975," which was released in 2021. The album consists of four instrumentals - One, Two, Three and Four.

Mute and Spoon Records have announced details of the third in a series of Can Live albums, "Can Live In Cuxhaven 1976." It is the latest in the acclaimed series that began in 2021 with Can Live in Stuttgart 1975 and presents a shorter, more concise performance by Can in four sections. For the "Can Live" series, Can's best bootleg recordings - many of which were recorded by Andrew Hall, who sadly passed away in April 2021 - were put through the wringer under the direction of founding member Irmin Schmidt and producer/engineer René Tinner to present these important historical documents in the best possible quality. French author Pascal Bussy, whose books include The Can Story (co-authored with Andy Hall, 1989) and Kraftwerk, wrote the booklets of Can "Live in Cuxhaven 1976: Man, Machine, and Music (1993). Of Can live, Bussy says, "To the end, Can's performances were not only a logical extension of their studio work, but definitely a work in themselves. And we are fortunate that there is still much to discover." The new album follows Can Live in Brighton 1975 ["Pure dynamite… keep them coming" - MOJO] and Can "Live in Stuttgart 1975," which was named Reissue of the Year by Uncut, ranked #2 on MOJO's Reissues of the Year and #7 on The Wire's Archive Reissues of the Year. The album was also featured in year-end round-ups by Record Collector, Electronic Sound, Treble, Aquarium Drunkard and others.

Formed in the late '60s and disbanding a little over a decade later, Can's unprecedented and bold combination of hypnotic grooves and avant-garde instrumental structures made them one of the most important and innovative bands of all time, and these albums show the group from a very different perspective. You may hear familiar themes, riffs and motifs popping up and rolling through these jams, but they're often just fleetingly recognizable faces in a swirling crowd. At other points, you hear music that didn't make it into the official album canon. On these recordings, Can goes into even more extreme realms than their studio work: from smooth, atmospheric drift rock to moments when the band is nicknamed "Godzillas." And even as they adjust and chase the rhythm from minute to minute, you can hear the extraordinary musical telepathy that its members shared.
