Thunder into Our Hearts is the second album of South African group Jabula, released in 1976 on Caroline Records. Recorded in November and December 1975 at Chalk Farm Studios and Decibel Studios in London, it is a further expedition in African-tinged jazz. The album features the group and guest musicians: Frank Roberts (keyboards), Nick Evans (trombone), "Spartacus" (electric bass), Graeme Morgan (drums), Bob House (clarinet), Ken Ely, Jim Dvorak (trumpet), Mike Rose (flute).

Jabula's debut album. Recorded at The Manor September 1974. Jabula (isiZulu: "rejoice") was a musical ensemble made of South African musicians "exiled" in England during the Apartheid Era. Under Apartheid, traditional African music was largely banned from radio and even private play, and groups who performed it were often forced into exile. The four members that became Jabula met in London where they were living after leaving South Africa. The group was formed in 1974. In addition to their own albums, the group also performed with Mike Oldfield for his albums Amarok, Incantations, and Ommadawn.

Chris Cohen was always a quiet kid. In fact, this introversion was one reason he began playing music as a toddler—to communicate without speaking to identify with others without the direct representation of words. It has worked, too, with Cohen’s terrific stint in the mighty Deerhoof and his own captivating art-rock act The Curtains, preceding production and session work for the likes of Weyes Blood, Kurt Vile, Le Ren, and Marina Allen. Somewhere along that long way, Cohen started writing lyrics. He found that, though it didn’t come naturally, the process offered a new sense of self-discovery and reckoning, a way to see himself and the world from unexpected angles.

Pianist and composer RIOPY has long upheld the benefits of meditation within his life, his music, and his creative inspiration. “I thought this would be a great way to be able to transcend music to an audience as an immersive experience,” says RIOPY of his conception of the project, “to help the listener have a proper meditation experience and feel great.”

Classical guitarist Plínio Fernandes has long been attracted by the aura of London—some 5,800 miles away from his native São Paulo, Brazil. His desire to move to the Brit capital for college music studies ultimately led him to launch an international touring and recording career there. He signed a multi-album contract with the prestigious Decca Gold label in 2021, at just 27 years old, and in 2023 joined the roster of Askonas Holt, one of the classical world’s premier artist management firms. With the recently inked deal, Fernandes joins the company of historic guitar giants Andrés Segovia, Julian Bream, and John Williams, and some of the world’s most revered classical conductors, instrumentalists, and vocalists that Askonas Holt has represented. The programmatic character of the First Sonata for Piano by Charles Ives according to John Kirkpatrick, has “the family together in the 1st and 5th movements; the boy is sowing his oats in the ragtimes (2nd and 4th movements; and there is parental anxiety in the third movement. The hymns quoted in each specific movement strengthen the programmatic aspect of the sonata and structure the composition as a large overall five-part arch form.

Kiiōtō is the love-child of Lou Rhodes, Mercury-nominated singer/songwriter and founder member of Lamb, and multi-platinum songwriter and keyboardist Rohan Heath. "Take A Look: The Clyde Otis Sessions" is a compilation album of Aretha Franklin's collaborations with producer Clyde Otis, reissued as part of 9CD box set, "Take A Look: Aretha Franklin Complete On Columbia". It features material either never released or released only as singles.

A previously unreleased 1965 album from the great Aretha Franklin, first issued in 2011 as part of a three-vinyl package, "The Electrifying Aretha Franklin", and 9CD box set, "Take A Look: Aretha Franklin Complete On Columbia". The original 11 track LP is bolstered by 3 bonus tracks and 8 mono mixes (and an outtake), and will probably send you scurrying for more of the early work you probably were never exposed to back in the day.

"Phantom Idol" is the Los Angeles psychedelic rock band, Dream Phases, third full length album. The group's sound has a focus on strong songwriting backed with Laurel Canyon folk textures, soulful rhythms and a layer of noise inspired by the band's more left-field influences. Phantom Idol is simultaneously more rocking and more acoustically layered than it's predecessor, "New Distractions," implementing krautrock, post-punk, and shoegaze influences.

Going for the One is the eighth studio album by English progressive rock band Yes, originally released in July 1977 by Atlantic Records. Going for the One received a mostly positive response from music critics who welcomed the band's return to more accessible music. It was a commercial success, reaching No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart for two weeks and No. 8 on the US Billboard 200. "Wonderous Stories" and "Going for the One" were released as singles; the former went to No. 7 in the UK and remains the band's highest-charting single in the country. It was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America within a month for selling 500000 copies.
