In many ways, the music of Writhing Squares could have only originated in Philadelphia; the city itself is a microcosm of creatives, go-getters, freaks & weirdos that have coalesced into a supportive & boundary-pushing crew. Former Purling Hiss bassist Daniel Provenzano & Ecstatic Vision sax-player & vocalist Kevin Nickles’ first musical missive as Writhing Squares was shot forth from this community in 2013 (the self-released CDR “Live In Space”) & various singles, split releases, albums (and a double-album) later we arrive at the duo’s fourth full-length “Mythology”, their third for Chicago-based Trouble In Mind Records.

A new record from Glasgow-based space rock group! Infinite Peaks is the long awaited ninth full length album from tumultuous Glaswegian astral travellers The Cosmic Dead. The album features two extended incantations recorded and mixed at Glasgow's 16 Ohm Recording Studio. Their exploratory compositions often reach levels of sonic destruction through reflective repetition and visceral harmony.

ZOMBI make their long awaited return with their new album, Direct Inject! Returning only two years after the release of their previous LP 'Arc', this is a notable break from tradition, having left five and seven year gaps before the previous two. And after much deliberation, the band settled on following in the footsteps of Soft Machine and Led Zeppelin in naming the album after its chronological appearance.

2024 on Drone Rock Records is kicking off in style with the welcome return of Psychic Lemon and their 4th studio album, ‘The Unheimlich Kingdom’. It’s been over four years since the band’s last studio album, ‘Freak Mammal’ (released at the tail end of 2019 on Drone Rock Records), and this is their first record since downsizing to a two-piece following the departure of bass player Andy Hibberd. Murmurations describe a natural phenomenon in which a large group of starlings fly in unison using complex laws of movement depending on the relative birds around each individual. This behaviour can be observed on land in herds and under the sea in schools of fish. They are the natural answer of the collective facing a common danger. What seems to be engineered by the mind of one leader is actually generated by every individual's awareness of the group, working together towards their collective fate. There must be a lesson there. Moon Geese (mean geese) murmurations are very rare because there aren't any predators on the Moon except for a few quickly gone humans and a couple multilingual slow bots on wheels.

Originally released in 2010, Pyramid of the Sun was Maserati’s landmark album. It was the band’s final recording with drummer Jerry Fuchs, completed and released one year after his tragic passing. It became their defining album, and remains the keystone of Maserati’s storied catalog. As the final piece in the celebration of Maserati’s 20th anniversary, Pyramid of the Sun – Anniversary Edition has been repackaged, remastered from the original master tapes by Josh Bonati, and augmented with a scorching live set from the 2009 SXSW Music Conference. Also included are the side-long bonus tracks, “Pyramid of the Moon” and “Pyramid of the Moon (The Field Remix).”
