"Cold Roses" was originally released on May 3, 2005 and is the sixth album by Ryan Adams. It is also the first album with his backing band The Cardinals. Cold Roses was produced by Tom Schick and peaked at #26 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Torrential creativity has fast-forwarded the artistic evolution of former Whiskeytown frontman Ryan Adams from country-rock boy wonder to despondent troubadour with a 1960s fixation, but it may also explain why listeners often need to wade through some pedestrian material just to find a few pearls of poetic excellence. Gold is no exception to that trend, a sometimes engaging middle-of-the-road roots-pop album that's both overlong (70 minutes) and at times overindulgent.

Ryan Adams covers Taylor Swift's 2014 album "1989". While listening to Taylor Swift's record, Adams thought how he would have done the songs. "I was listening to that record and thinking, I hear more", he said. "Not that there was anything missing. I would just think about the sentiments in the songs and the configurations".

Ryan Adams released a cover album of Oasis’ (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? simply called Morning Glory.

Produced by Don Was, the highly anticipated "Prisoner" is the first release from Ryan Adams since his 2015 Taylor Swift cover album "1989". With influences from AC/DC and Electric Light Orchestra to Bruce Hornsby and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, the tracks may be more uptempo than in the past, but lyrically Adams is just as personal and soul-searching as before.

This album contains the 17 previously unreleased B-sides included in the elaborate "Prisoner" vinyl box set from Ryan Adams.

Benmont Tench, of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, debuts his first solo record within his five-decades-long musical career. Featuring musical contributions from Tom Petty and Ringo Starr.
