Lee Ritenour is one of music’s greatest players; his historic career spans five decades and boasts over forty albums. For his latest release, Rhythm Sessions, the legendary guitarist enlists a star-studded cast of veterans and promising newcomers including Chick Corea, Dave Grusin, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and winners from his Annual Six String Theory International Competition. This diverse project features a variety of sounds and grooves, all rooted in jazz, but with hints of funk, R&B, Latin and world music. Focusing on the rhythm sections, Ritenour penned various tracks and selected works by greats including Herbie Hancock and Nick Drake. This multi-layered and multi-textural work is engaging from the first note.

Sadao Watanabe is a Japanese jazz musician who plays alto saxophone, sopranino saxophone, and flute. He is known for his bossa nova recordings, although his work encompasses many styles with collaborations from musicians all over the world.

Patrick Williams, one of Hollywood’s great composers, has created soundtracks for over 70 films as well as numerous television series and is a multiple Emmy and Grammy winner. On this 1977 recording Williams enlists the help of some jazz greats, including pianist Dave Grusin, guitarist Steve Kahn and drummer Grady Tate, to interpret his originals along with a couple of his best-known television themes from The Bob Newhart Show and Lou Grant and a cover of "Blue Light".

Drummer Alphonse Mouzon's fourth solo album, "The Man Incognito", was recorded in Los Angeles in late 1975 and released in 1976. Mouzon is surrounded on these nine original songs by a large and impressive group of musicians and backing vocalists including Tom Scott on saxophones, Lee Ritenour on guitar and keyboardists Dave Grusin, David Benoit and George Duke (billed here as Dawilli Gonga).
