The third ring offers a whimsical glimpse into the future – or at least a future from the POV of the mid-20th century – with a plethora of zany postwar inventions. While none of the cartoons "of tomorrow" foresaw smartphones or Blu-ray players, these far-fetched contraptions, gadgets, houses and farms, televisions, and various modes of transportation could only come from the madcap mind of Avery and his MGM crew. A psychotic killer gets in the good graces of his aging invalid employer, and worms his way into the affection of her beautiful daughter, with unpleasant results for all.

Wealthy widow Mrs. Bramson notices that her maid is distracted, and when she learns the girl's fiancé is the reason summons him in. When Danny arrives, he ingratiates himself with Mrs. Bramson, playing on her sympathies to earn himself a job as her assistant. Mrs. Bramson's niece Olivia takes a liking to Danny, however comes to believe that he may have been involved in the disappearance of a local woman.
