Functional Coatings

Coatings are mainly applied on surfaces for decorative, protective, or functional purposes, but in most cases it is a combination of these. Beside the usual coatings properties functional coatings possess an additional functionality. This additional functionality depends on the actual application. Typical examples of functional coatings are easy-to-clean, self-cleaning, anti-graffiti, anti-fingerprinting, antifouling, soft feel, antibacterial, anti-ice and anti-fogging coatings. The book will give an overview of functional coatings and the principles they are based on.
