Computer Games is a 1982 album by funk musician George Clinton, released on Capitol Records. Though technically Clinton's first "solo" album, the record featured most of the same personnel who had appeared on recent albums by Parliament and Funkadelic, both formally disbanded by Clinton in 1981. Conceived in the aftermath of a period marked by financial and personal struggles for Clinton, "Computer Games" restored his popularity for a short time before P-Funk fell victim to renewed legal problems and scant label support in the mid 1980s. The album was listed by Slant Magazine at #97 on its list of "Best Albums of the 1980s.

Can it get any better? If aliens came down needing to know what funk was all about, in all its talented, embrace-anything-and-everything, screw with your head and get your butt down glory, then this is a prime candidate for what to give them. The man, his voice, his bass, the backing of a prime core band including his guitarist brother Catfish, Fred Wesley, and Maceo Parker leading the brass – beautiful, hilarious, and just plain great. This one-disc collection could easily be a two-disc or more if one wanted to include every last highlight from Collins' up-down-all-around career – his work with James Brown alone is beyond the bomb – but when it comes to solo work, this is as perfect a place to start as any. Drawing mostly on the albums done with the active help of George Clinton in the late '70s, Back in the Day is a model for what a good compilation should be. Sound is excellent throughout, while full details on who plays what and where, along with where everything came from in the first place, all appear in exhaustive detail. The liner notes, meanwhile, come from longtime funk road manager (Brown, Prince, plenty of others) Alan Leeds, explaining every step of Collins' wonderful story.

A lost treasure from R&B pioneer Larry Williams - the only album he ever issued in the 70s, recorded a few years before his untimely and mysterious death! The 1978 Fantasy set's got a heavy funk feel on most numbers - a great reworking of Williams' earlier groove, set to backings that feature Fred Wesley and Maceo Parker on horny horns, plus Rudy Copeland on keyboards! The approach is similar to the 70s grooves used by Larry's west coast contemporary Johnny Guitar Watson - although sadly, this album never brought Williams the same sort of comeback fame. Gene Sculatti contributes liner notes that delve into Williams’ curious career.

"Trombipulation" is the 9th album by the funk band Parliament. It was released by Casablanca Records. It was the last album of original material produced by the group for 38 years until Medicaid Fraud Dogg in 2018. Unlike previous Parliament albums, George Clinton did not serve as sole producer of the album, as other P-Funk figures assisted in producing individual tracks. Bassist Bootsy Collins emerged as the principal musician on this album, playing virtually all of the instruments on a number of tracks. The track "Let's Play House" was sampled by the Hip-Hop group Digital Underground for their single "The Humpty Dance". While Trombipulation wasn't as commercially successful as previous Parliament albums, its first single, "Agony of DeFeet" peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.

"Never Buy Texas from a Cowboy", released on Atlantic Records in November 1979, was the 2nd album from the American female funk band, The Brides of Funkenstein. Morphing into a trio on the second album release, the vocalists consisted of Dawn Silva, Sheila Horne, and Jeanette McGruder. Horne and McGruder served as background vocalists on subsequent P-Funk concert tours. "Never Buy Texas From a Cowboy" would be granted a Cashbox Rhythm & Blues Award in 1980 for 'Best Female Group'. The song slated for the award was the 1979 single "Didn't Mean To Fall In Love", written and produced by Ron Dunbar. The album's top single release, "Never Buy Texas From a Cowboy" became a hit in the Midwest, Europe and Asia. "Never Buy Texas from A Cowboy" resurfaced in 2001 with Rolling Stone rating this album as the top 50 coolest albums of all times.

The 3rd Captain Sky record never manages to achieve liftoff. While previous efforts balanced the Captain's shameless P-Funk cops with some propulsive grooves and widescreen arrangements, "Concerned Party #1" simply goes through the motions, running on nothing but the vapors of a few witty puns (e.g., "Bubble Gum (I Chewz You)") and a handful of punishing bass grooves. Worse, the production breaks down under the weight of its painfully slick disco textures. A few cuts, like "Sir Jam a Lot," might get a less discerning dancefloor moving, but otherwise Concerned Party #1 falls completely flat.

A Fifth of Funk is the fifth and final installment of the George Clinton Family Series collection by Parliament-Funkadelic collective members. Compilation producer and P-Funk leader George Clinton gives his final thoughts about the tracks on the album, as well as his feelings on the entire Family Series project, for A Fifth of Funk‍ 's final track. The title is a play on words of Ludwig van Beethoven's famous Fifth Symphony, as well as Walter Murphy's 1976 disco hit "A Fifth of Beethoven".

This compilation features some of the best solo material from the Parliament/Funkadelic crew during the late '70s and '80s under the direction of George Clinton. Ever the entrepreneur, Clinton had farmed his aggregate of loose booties to no less than five respective (major) labels. While technically Parliament was recording for Casablanca and Funkadelic was signed to Warner Bros., Clinton's short-lived Uncle Jam imprint was issued and distributed by Columbia/Epic. It is here that listeners find the 15 tracks – nine of which are making their debut in the digital domain – that comprise Six Degrees of P-Funk: The Best of George Clinton & His Funky Family (2003).

This truly is an all-star affair. Parliament and Funkadelic alumni like Bootsy Collins, Eddie Hazel, Walter "Junie" Morrison, and Garry Shider, among others, resurface from various stages in the Mothership's time upon earth to contribute to this stylistically sprawling and urbanely funky session; adding to the impressive roll call are high-profile soul and funk guest stars such as Sly "Sylvester Stewart" Stone, Bobby Womack, Fred Wesley, and Maceo Parker. And leading the charge is the master himself, George Clinton.

A splinter group of a splinter group, the Sweat Band was folded out of the original Bootsy's Rubber Band. That group came out of the original Parliament/Funkadelic empire. Bassist Bootsy Collins played with them on the single "Freak To Freak," which he co-produced with George Clinton. the Sweat Band included saxophonist Maceo Parker, keybardist Joel Johnson, and drummer Carl Smalls, but they didn't last very long on Uncle Jam Records as a separate part of the Parliament/Funkadelic axis.

This collection is a pair of D-Train's earliest efforts, 1983's "Music" and the following year's "Something's on Your Mind"; for better or for worse, their sound is completely a product of its era, and while some listeners will find the disc thoroughly dated, others will enjoy its nostalgic charms.

Invasion Of The Booty Snatchers is the 1979 album by Parlet. This was Parlet's second album and they were ladies who were part of the P. Funk empire lead by George Clinton. They were not another group of women who were part of P. Funk, The Brides Of Funkenstein, but a different set of ladies altogether. This was remastered in 2013 and reissued by Real Gone Music.
