The last in a trilogy of early 70s albums that threatened to make Baldry more than a one(ish)-hit wonder, Good To Be Alive lacked the previous assistance of protégés Elton John and Rod Stewart who, by then, were too busy being superstars to give their old boss a helping hand. Yet the 1973 result, issued on the GM label run by Stewart’s manager, is reckoned by fans to be the best of the three and, with original tapes unavailable, it has been mastered from vinyl by Canadian label Pacemaker.
