Solitude Standing: Live at the Barbican is a live album by the American singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega. It was recorded on 16 October 2012 at the Barbican Centre in London, on the final celebratory concert to mark 25th anniversary of her studio album Solitude Standing. Disc one is a live performance of a full album, second one contains other Vega's songs.

Six CD set. Long acknowledged as one of the greatest and most influential acoustic guitarists to emerge from the British folk scene, the late John Renbourn is best known to the wider world for his membership of Pentangle, the genre-busting band that he was instrumental in bringing together in 1967. Pentangle's recordings are widely available, most recently with Cherry Red's 2017 highly-acclaimed box set Pentangle: The Albums. However, Renbourn recorded extensively both before and during the band's early genesis, with a trio of solo albums joined by two vital collaborations with American-born folk singer Dorris Henderson as well as Bert And John, his joint album with Bert Jansch in 1966. Housed in a clamshell box that boasts replica album sleeves, some very rare photos and a new essay on the man, Unpentangled anthologises that essential but often overlooked body of early work.

'The Best of the Pogues' was the sixth album released by The Pogues and marked a watershed for the band. They had sacked founder, principal songwriter and lead singer Shane MacGowan and the album was intended as a end of an era before their projected renascence.

The Tigers Have Spoken is a 2004 live album by Neko Case. The album was recorded at three live shows, one in Chicago and two in Toronto, in the spring of 2004. Guest musicians include The Sadies, Carolyn Mark, Kelly Hogan and Jon Rauhouse, and the album was produced by Case and Darryl Neudorf.

Deluxe remastered edition of this album from cult folk artist Karen Dalton. Recorded over a six month period in 1970/71 at Bearsville, In My Own Time was Dalton's only fully planned and realized studio album. The material was carefully selected and crafted for her by producer/musician Harvey Brooks, the Renaissance man of rock-jazz who played bass on Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited and Miles' Bitches Brew. It features ten songs that reflected Dalton's incredible ability to break just about anybody's heart - from her spectral evocation of Joe Tate's One Night of Love, to the dark tragedy of the traditional Katie Cruel. Known as a great interpreter of choice material, Dalton could master both country and soul genres with hauntingly pining covers of George Jones' Take Me and Holland-Dozier Holland's How Sweet It Is.

Tapestry is the second album by American singer-songwriter Carole King, released in 1971 on Ode Records and produced by Lou Adler. It is one of the best-selling albums of all time, with over 25 million copies sold worldwide. In the United States, it has been certified Diamond with more than 10 million copies sold. It received four Grammy Awards in 1972, including Album of the Year. The lead single from the album — "It's Too Late"/"I Feel the Earth Move" — spent five weeks at number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Easy Listening charts. In 2003, Tapestry was ranked number 36 on Rolling Stone list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Blonde on Blonde is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released in mid 1966, on Columbia Records. Blonde on Blonde completed the trilogy of rock albums that Dylan recorded in 1965 and 1966, starting with Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited. Critics often rank Blonde on Blonde as one of the greatest albums of all time. Combining the expertise of Nashville session musicians with a modernist literary sensibility, the album's songs have been described as operating on a grand scale musically, while featuring lyrics one critic called "a unique mixture of the visionary and the colloquial". It was one of the first double albums in rock music. The album peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200 chart in the US, where it eventually was certified double platinum, and it reached number three in the UK. Blonde on Blonde spawned two singles that were top-twenty hits in the US: "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" and "I Want You". Two additional songs—"Just Like a Woman" and "Visions of Johanna"—have been named as among Dylan's greatest compositions and were featured in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list.

Relish can be a sharp, bittersweet condiment; it can also suggest a determined gusto to live to the fullest. Combined, these two images provide a good taste of Joan Osborne's major-label debut (the live Soul Show was self-released in 1992). Grounded in blues, soul, and gospel, the Kentucky native wields her gritty voice with personality and forceful presence, kind of Melissa Etheridge meets Sophie B. Hawkins with a splash of Jann Arden. Osborne's passion for life oozes from the grooves. There's an uplifting fervor to her material and delivery, as if every second, every note, was being individually savored.

A rarities album of the first incarnation of Marc Bolan’s Tyrannosaurus Rex featuring Steve Peregrine Took. The First LP collects all the tracks from the early first two sessions from the summer of ’67 The second LP collects rare and unused alternate versions recorded over the following two years until the departure of Steve Took. Some find Karen Dalton's voice difficult to listen to, and despite the Billie Holiday comparisons, it is rougher going than Lady Day. But Dalton's vocals aren't that hard to take, and they are expressive; like Buffy Sainte-Marie, it just does take some getting used to because of their unconventional timbre. Her debut album has a muted folk-rock feel reminiscent of Fred Neil's arrangements in the mid-'60s, unsurprising since Neil's Capitol-era producer, Nick Venet, produced this disc too, and since Dalton, a friend of Neil, covered a couple of Neil songs here ("Little Bit of Rain," "Blues on the Ceiling"). Although clocking in at a mere ten songs, it covers a lot of ground, from Tim Hardin, Jelly Roll Morton, and Leadbelly to the traditional folk song "Ribbon Bow" and the Eddie Floyd/Booker T. Jones-penned soul tune "I Love You More Than Words Can Say." The record is interesting and well done, but would have been far more significant if it had come out five years or so earlier. By 1969 such singers were expected to write much of their own material (Dalton wrote none), and to embrace rock instrumentation less tentatively.

Graham Nash's second solo effort has been overshadowed by his harmonic heroics as a senior partner in the various Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young configurations. After being lured from the Hollies – where his latter contributions were criminally unappreciated (see, or rather hear Dear Eloise/King Midas in Reverse) – it was Nash who had come up with most of the CSN(Y) hit singles, including "Marrakesh Express," "Our House," and "Teach Your Children." His 1971 debut, Songs for Beginners, was likewise filled with inspired moments such as "I Used to Be a King," "Chicago/We Can Change the World," and "Sleep Song." Topping those efforts would have been superhuman. Such is the way that Wild Tales has been eclipsed and overlooked by enthusiasts of his previous endeavors. Nash gathered a core aggregate of musicians, many of whom were loosely connected to the CSNY family. These include: Johnny Barbata (drums), Tim Drummond (bass), David Lindley (guitar), and Ben Keith (pedal steel guitar/dobro), and, of course David Crosby (vocals).

Free's second album was recorded with the band itself in considerable turmoil. Principal songwriters Paul Rodgers and Andy Fraser demanded strict discipline from their bandmates, and guitarist Paul Kossoff in particular equally demanded the spontaneity and freedom that had characterized the group's debut. It was an awkward period; both Kossoff and drummer Simon Kirke came close to quitting, and only the intervention of Island label chief Chris Blackwell seems to have prevented it. Few of these tensions, however, are evident on the finished album. (Tribute, again, to Blackwell's powers of diplomacy.) He replaced original producer Guy Stevens early into the sessions and, having reminded both warring parties where the band's strengths lay, proceeded to coax out an album that stands alongside its predecessor as a benchmark of British blues at the turn of the 1970s.
