"Todo Samba" is a studio album by the Brazilian singer, guitarist, and composer Sérgio Santos, released on May 15, 2026, through the independent label Biscoito Fino. The project is a collaborative celebration of traditional Brazilian samba, prominently featuring the creative clarinet improvisations of maestro Nailor Proveta.

A departure from the soul and samba that defined his solo career, the new album is a sophisticated orchestral celebration of Brazilian music, moving between jazz and bossa nova.

When talking about bossa nova, perhaps the signature pop music sound of Brazil, the first name that comes to mind is that of Antonio Carlos Jobim. With songs like "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Desafindo," Jobim pretty much set the standard for the creation of the bossa nova in the mid-'50s.

Maracanós, the new collaborative album by Brazilian pianist, composer, and producer Ricardo Bacelar and legendary percussionist Airto Moreira, will be released worldwide on April 24, 2026, via Jasmin Music. The largely instrumental project features a special appearance by acclaimed vocalist Flora Purim and will be available simultaneously across major international markets, including Brazil, the United States, Portugal, France, Germany, China, and Japan.

oão Gilberto do Prado Pereira de Oliveira, known as João Gilberto, was a Brazilian guitarist, singer, and composer who was a pioneer of the musical genre of bossa nova in the late 1950s. Around the world, he was often called the "father of bossa nova"; in his native Brazil, he was referred to as "O Mito" (The Myth). In 1965, the album Getz/Gilberto was the first jazz record to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. It also won Best Jazz Instrumental Album – Individual or Group and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Gilberto's Amoroso was nominated for a Grammy in 1978 in the category Best Jazz Vocal Performance. In 2001 he won in the Best World Music Album category with João voz e violão.

Lisa Ono's new album, recorded in November 2025 at Onkio Haus in Tokyo, presents an intimate piano duo collection of beloved Antonio Carlos Jobim melodies performed with pianist and producer Masaki Hayashi, featuring Lisa Ono on vocals and guitar, Masaki Hayashi on piano, whistle and chorus, and guest musician Sadao Watanabe on alto saxophone for tracks 03, 07 and 12, creating a warm and improvisational reinterpretation of Jobim's masterpieces in celebration of his 100th birth anniversary in January 2027, with liner notes written by Haruki Murakami and marking Ono's first Jobim-focused release in 19 years as well as her first recording collaboration with Watanabe since their reunion at the April 2025 festival Tsukiji Jam following their original meeting in Sao Paulo when she was nine.

On Boundless Species, vocalist Jamile and guitarist Vinicius Gomes — joined by bassist Joe Martin — take the rich lineage of Brazilian vocal–guitar artistry and push it into surprising new territories with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Johnny Alf, Guinga, and Stevie Wonder all share a common horizon. Their drum-less trio creates a sound both intimate and cinematic — a chamber ensemble with groove and a songbook mindset.

Finally Blue Note issues a Latin collection from its Italian (Italiana SPA) and Brazilian (EMI-Odeon) vaults that reveals the true diversity of its catalog and exploits some of the serious sensuous grooves that DJs have been spinning for over a decade. This is the first of three volumes, all of which feature the rarest most representative tracks from the various trends in jazz that grew out of Brazilian pop in the '60s, '70s, and even '80s. For starters, there's the mean brass swagger of Luis Amuda Perez on "Upa Neguinho," which was written by Edu Lobo. Besides being a popular dance tune (you can hear that in the opening measures), it is a masterpiece of Brazilian big band arrangement. Also featured is the stellar "Noa Noa," a trademark of Sergio Mendez.
