This release marks a musical homecoming for Sara Övinge, since she has chosen a slightly more convoluted career path than most violinists. Sara has sought out and immersed herself in contemporary music, Iranian music, composition, improvisation, and art-pop amongst several other musical pursuits. Her entire M.O. points to a strong and intrinsic need to be a co-creatingmusician, one who leaves her mark on the musical expression in a more comprehensive way than simply playing the notes on the stand.

On the CD “Light Shall Shine” organist Anders Eidsten Dahl performs three works of Herman Vogt on the magnificent Carsten Lund organ in Bragernes Church. The release is the result of a collaboration over more than ten years between the performer and the composer. The music spans a wide palette in its tonal language, everything from simple and naivist music to complex polyphony.

On his new CD, Études Poétiques, pianist Rune Alver presents the listener with piano pieces of Signe Lund (1868 – 1950). Lund is one of the most distinguished female composers in Norwegian musical history, but the release is controversial nonetheless.

The Norwegian Trombone Ensemble was formed in 2014 and consists of Audun Breen, Principal Trombone of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Sverre Riise, Petter Winroth, and Clare Farr, the trombone section of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. The four performers have extensive experience as soloists and chamber musicians. They are some of Norway's most outstanding trombonists and master most genres, from renaissance and baroque to contemporary, jazz and pop. "In our concerts we attempt to move effortlessly through many different musical styles, performing chamber music for trombones with excellence and a twinkle in the eye. We are aiming to convey the same lighthearted character with this recording and have put together a handful of pieces that we believe display all the fine and varied qualities of the trombone. The pieces cater for all tastes and span over 400 years, from Gabrieli and Beethoven to Bacharach and ABBA. Sit down with your favourite nibbles, relax and enjoy the concert!"

Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Vasily Petrenko offer here the third and final release in a series of recordings of Richard Strauss’s orchestral music. On this CD the listener is presented with the tone poems “Eine Alpensinfonie” and “Tod und Verklärung”, works that long have been part of the Oslo Philharmonic’s repertoire.
