Primality Testing and Integer Factorization in Public-Key Cryptography

Primality Testing and Integer Factorization in Public-Key Cryptography by Song Y. Yan
English | PDF (True) | 2009 | 386 Pages | ISBN : 0387772677 | 5.3 MB

The Primality Testing Problem (PTP) has now proved to be solvable in deterministic polynomial-time (P) by the AKS (Agrawal-Kayal-Saxena) algorithm, whereas the Integer Factorization Problem (IFP) still remains unsolvable in (P). There is still no polynomial-time algorithm for IFP. Many practical public-key cryptosystems and protocols such as RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) rely their security on computational intractability of IFP.

Practical Asymptotics

Practical Asymptotics by H. K. Kuiken
English | PDF (True) | 2001 | 388 Pages | ISBN : 0792369203 | 38.1 MB

Practical Asymptotics is an effective tool for reducing the complexity of large-scale applied-mathematical models arising in engineering, physics, chemistry, and industry, without compromising their accuracy. It exploits the full potential of the dimensionless representation of these models by considering the special nature of the characteristic dimensionless quantities. It can be argued that these dimensionless quantities mostly assume extreme values, particularly for practical parameter settings. Thus, otherwise complicated models can be rendered far less complex and the numerical effort to solve them is greatly reduced.

Linear-Fractional Programming Theory, Methods, Applications and Software by Erik B. Bajalinov
English | PDF | 2003 | 442 Pages | ISBN : 1402076266 | 29.2 MB

This is a book on Linear-Fractional Programming (here and in what follows we will refer to it as "LFP"). The field of LFP, largely developed by Hungarian mathematician B. Martos and his associates in the 1960's, is concerned with problems of op timization. LFP problems deal with determining the best possible allo cation of available resources to meet certain specifications. In particular, they may deal with situations where a number of resources, such as people, materials, machines, and land, are available and are to be combined to yield several products.
